hello,

Ready to Make Your Content Work Harder?

I'm in :)

Let's take you from overlooked to fully booked with Pinterest & blogging!

If you’re a wedding stationer trying to grow your business, you’ve probably heard that Pinterest is the place to be. And it’s true! Pinterest is one of the best marketing tools for stationers because it’s built for visual searches. But if you’ve ever felt like your pins aren’t getting traction or your content isn’t showing up in search results, you’re not alone. Pinterest can be tricky to figure out, especially if you’re just getting started. After managing Pinterest for wedding stationers, I wanted to share my big takeaways. Use this advice to help guide your own Pinterest account and save time in the process!

1. You Can Book Custom Stationery Clients Through Pinterest

First things first…Pinterest isn’t just for selling templates or semi-custom suites. It’s also an incredible way to connect with couples who want fully custom wedding stationery. When your pins link directly to your portfolio pages or real wedding blogs, you make it easy for engaged couples to discover your work and inquire right away.

You don’t need an Etsy shop or digital storefront to make Pinterest work for you. What you do need is a strong content strategy that showcases your designs, tells the story behind them, and links to blog posts that help couples plan their stationery. Pinterest can absolutely bring high-end, custom clients to your inbox when you create content that speaks to their vision and timeline.

2. Not Every Blog is Built for Pinterest

You’ve probably been told that you need to blog for SEO and Pinterest, and that’s totally true! However, the truth is that not every blog topic will do well on Pinterest.

Pinterest thrives on content that’s educational, evergreen, and visually driven. Pinners don’t know you yet; so, unlike your Instagram followers, they’re not as invested in “behind the scenes” or personal content. They’re looking for inspiration and answers to their problems. The blog posts that you pin should inspire them and solve their problems.

To make your blogs Pinterest-friendly, focus on evergreen topics like:

  • Invitation wording or etiquette
  • Wedding invitation timeline guides
  • Wedding planning advice
  • Inspiration from real weddings or styled shoots

3. Professionally Styled Flat Lays Reign Supreme

When it comes to Pinterest for wedding stationers, visuals are everything. Pinterest rewards high-quality photography. While casual desk shots can work on Instagram, they don’t perform as well on Pinterest, where users are searching for styled inspiration.

Focus on pinning your professionally styled flat lays that highlight your suites in their best light. Use professional backgrounds and choose flat lays that have been styled with props (flowers, rings, dishes, etc.). Showcase all the cards in the suite so people can see what’s possible.

4. Couples Love Infographics about Wedding Planning

Here’s a secret: your content doesn’t have to only be invitation photos. Some of the best-performing pins for wedding stationers are infographics that help couples plan their wedding stationery timeline or understand etiquette rules.

Think of topics like:

  • “When to send your save the dates”
  • “Wedding invitation wording etiquette”
  • “What to include in your invitation suite”
  • “How to address envelopes the right way”

These quick, easy-to-digest graphics build trust and position you as an expert. Couples will save your pins because they’re useful. Those saves will tell Pinterest that your content is valuable, and it will be pushed out to more people. Win-win!

5. Simple Language is Best

When you’re writing blog posts or pin descriptions, remember that most couples aren’t stationers. Many couples may not know what “deckled edges”, “die-cut shapes”, or “foil-press” mean. The more technical your language, the less likely your content will be found.

Pinterest and blogging both work best when you use simple, descriptive language that helps people see and understand what you offer. Instead of focusing on stationery terms that only other designers would recognize, use the words your clients are already searching for.

6. January through March is Your Time to Shine

Every niche has ups and downs on Pinterest, but for wedding creatives, Q1 is pure gold. Many couples start planning around the holidays (hello, engagement season!). Therefore, January-March is when searches for wedding terms go through the roof. That means Q4 is the perfect time to start preparing.

About three months before the spike, you’ll want to:

  • Refresh your Pinterest profile
  • Optimize your boards with keywords
  • Publish educational blog posts
  • Create new pins from your best images

Even if you’re busy designing invitations, make time to schedule your pins. Using Tailwind or Pinterest’s native scheduler helps you stay consistent. By the time engagement season hits again, your content will already be circulating and ranking.

7. Pay Attention to the Seasons

Planning ahead by season is so important for to Pinterest for wedding stationers. Pinterest users are planners. They’re searching for ideas months in advance. So if you’re sharing summer wedding invitations in July, you’re already too late for most searches.

Here’s a simple guide to keep your seasonal content aligned:

  • Winter wedding content: Start pinning in August or September
  • Spring weddings: Start pinning in November or December
  • Summer weddings: Start pinning in January or February
  • Fall weddings: Start pinning in April or May

FIELD NOTE: Schedule your content about 2-3 months before a spike and use seasonal keywords like “spring wedding invitations” or “autumn color palette” in your descriptions. Staying ahead keeps your pins relevant when couples are searching.

When you use Pinterest with intention, it becomes one of the easiest ways to stay visible to new clients year-round. The effort you put in now keeps paying off long after you’ve pinned, bringing couples who connect with your work straight to your contact form.

I love managing Pinterest for wedding stationers who want to show up consistently and attract custom clients without having to post on Instagram nonstop. If that sounds like something you need, let’s create a strategy that works for your business!
